This is the openStages 3D View. The main view into the virtual model of the theatre space being used. The single viewpoint gives a realistic sense of the space and the inclusion of actors gives an accurate sense of scale. The view window can be resized and moved and set window sizes can be selected from the program menus. The image can be saved as a Jpeg image file.

The Control Panels are the main interface to the workings of openStages. On the left are the departments that affect what happens on stage. To the right of these are a set of tabs that contain options according to the active department. On the extreme right is the editing panel which appears when manipulating scenery, props or actors.

Clicking on a button of the View List will move the viewpoint to the viewpoint indicated on the button. Selecting an actor and then clicking on [Go To Actor] will move the viewpoint to that of the chosen actor. Clicking on [Save View] will bring up the Create View panel so the current viewpoint can be saved and reused.

Use the Create View panel to add views to the View List or modify existing views. Enter a View Name and Description in the text boxes and then click on [Save] to create a new viewpoint or [Re-Save] to modify an existing viewpoint. The zoom setting is saved as well.

The Zoom panel is similar to the zoom lens of a camera. Increasing the setting appears to take the view closer, magnifying and flattening what you see. Decreasing the setting widens the view, increases depth and distorts close objects and the edges of the view.
